I want to express my appreciation to Dr. William Boothe. The lively atmosphere and the focus on clean, friendly services in his center were impressive. This is the place, as far as I’m concerned, for treating patients with poor vision. The assistants very attentively care for each patient, especially those who are of old age. I found out that at Boothe Laser Care Center the personnel has a high level of education and they are more respectful than in many other clinics I visit.

Initially, I thought that with the years passing, my vision slow deterioration is normal. People age and their vision changes as part of the process. I hesitated to go to the center and was not sure it is possible to find a treatment for improving eyesight at my age. My daughter told me about her experience with Dr. Boothe and it influenced my opinion. She said that at the center there were also olded patients and they were satisfied with the recovery and their result. She had a treatment at the center and was able to improve her vision and does not need glasses any longer.

One day I took the telephone number of Boothe Laser Care & Eye Center and made a consultation with their main surgeon William Boothe. Very comfortably, that center works on weekends because on weekdays I usually busy. On Saturday I came to Dr. Boothe and my eyesight was examined in a few ways. I met with different counselors and nurses who were kind-hearted and patient with me. Finally I met Dr. Boothe with his nurse and he diagnosed that I have the initial stages of cataract. He said that I have to immediately undergo the treatment in order to stop developing cataract and that I will have laser therapy to restore the lost vision.

I underwent all treatments and after two month I was a good candidate for laser surgery. I am very glad that laser procedure is available for patients of all ages. Dr. Boothe explained that laser surgery is a painless procedure so I was calm and did not worry about it.

Yesterday, I had follow-up consult. Dr. William Boothe was very satisfied with the results of my treatment. He recommended me to continue taking care of my eyes as instructed. I am 65 years old but I have vision as when I was 18. I adamantly recommend to do laser correction for those who hesitate.

Before & After Lasik Surgery

Before undergoing LASIK surgery, patients are often advised to follow a set of pre-operative instructions that will be provided by the doctor who will perform the surgery. Dr. William Boothe explains he will ask for the medical history of each patient - information such as present medications, illness, and allergic reactions to any medications, previous surgeries etc. This will help him to determine whether the patient is a candidate of LASIK eye procedure. If you are recognized as a candidate for LASIK, Dr. Boothe will provide you with specific instructions that have to be followed prior to the surgery. You must follow those instructions to reduce any chance of complications after the LASIK surgery.

Often, Boothe Laser Center will provide you with some of these instructions:
You should not use soft contact lens a couple of weeks prior to surgery because your cornea needs to return to its normal shape. Usage of hard contact lens should be stopped six weeks prior to a LASIK surgery. Patients should not use any kind of creams, lotions or cosmetics on their face as well as eyes. You should also refrain from any kind of eye make-up on the day of your LASIK surgery. Enough rest should be taken before a LASIK surgery. Patients are often asked to arrive to the center one hour before the surgical procedure. Patients can eat light food or drink some fluids before surgery.

On the day of the procedure, you should not use hair products containing alcohol such as hairspray. The outcome of the surgery may be affected by such types of products. Patients are advised to wear comfortable clothes, if possible loose clothing. Arrange a secure transportation from home to the center and back. Driving is not advisable after the surgical procedure. In fact, it not usually recommended to drive for at least three days after a LASIK surgery. Patients are often recommended to take a leave from work at least for four days after the LASIK procedure.

Patients should wear an eye shield (it is transparent) in order to protect the operated cornea from accidental rub or any kind of injury. If you are experiencing any severe pain, please do not wait for your next follow-up appointment with the doctor since it may require the immediate attention of an ophthalmologist.

In most cases, the patient is asked to come in for another appointment with Dr. Boothe within 24-48 hours from the surgical procedure. Patients are usually requested to meet an ophthalmologist at regular intervals for at least six months. Dr. Boothe will ask you to use eye drops to prevent inflammation or infection of the eyes after the LASIK procedure.

Your doctor may also recommend you to use a brand of artificial tears in order to lubricate your eyes, thereby preventing dry eyes. Avoid any kind of activities such as swimming, karate, football, boxing, etc for at least four weeks after the LASIK surgery. Patients are recommended to sleep after the procedure to reduce the possibility of post-operative pain. Never ignore any instructions given by your surgeon, for both pre and post-operative care. Follow the instructions of Dr. Boothe for healthy eyes and quick healing after a LASIK procedure. Surgical complications are rare in LASIK surgery, and can often be prevented by following the guidelines your surgeon will provide you.

I was amazed with the high level of service at Boothe Laser Center.

I am so pleased with the pleasant attention I received by Dr. William Boothe and his members of staff. I could not imagine that before having my laser eye surgery I would smile and have a positive attitude. After the laser surgery, during the few weeks of recovery, I did not experience any complications.

I think I made the right decision to improve my eyesight with Dr. Boothe. At this center they really used the best technology available. They promised individual treatment and every member of the staff fulfilled it and made me feel relaxed in the process. I underwent procedures before going to Dr. Boothe of Boothe Laser Center and his office offers a new level of care.

Before I was “declared” a good candidate for IntraLastik surgery, some eye exams were performed by the assistants and I felt I could entrust my eyes in their hands. If there was something I did not understand, Boothe’s assistant who has great patience explained it to me. They spent a lot of time with me and I am very grateful for that. I felt support from the assistants through the laser surgery. For example, one nurse held my hand and the other explained what I might experience when Dr. Boothe will use the laser. During the surgery itself I almost felt nothing. Sometime I wanted to close my eyes because I felt the pressure of the laser on each eye. I was on the operating table for no more than 15 minutes.

I can now see without eyeglasses and contact lens. At last I have perfect vision, given to me by he capable hands of Dr. Boothe of Boothe Eyecare. I remember that some my friends said that patients who underwent laser surgery like Lasik or IntraLasik later needed to redo their surgery. But I found from my own experience that although I had the laser surgery two years ago, my eyesight have not been deteriorated at all. Do it when you are young and still have many years to enjoy the results!
