What do you need to know when you consider the cost of Lasik?
First, when you consider the cost of Lasik, you must find out what is included in the price provided to you by the Lasik surgeon/center in order to understand whether there would be additional out-of-pocket expenses that you will later incur and should be taken into consideration when comparing prices between different surgeons.
The initial part of every treatment is having a proper preoperative exam. Before you can be scheduled for a laser correction surgery eye, an examination is obviously necessary. Some centers have a separate examination charge that is not part of the total price of Lasik in order to provide you with a lower quote for the procedure.

Also, following your vision correction procedure, you will need a combination of antibiotics and/or anti-inflammatory eye drops. At Boothe Eye Care all the necessary medicine is included in the amount you are quote here.
Follow-up consultations are also included in the total cost of Lasik at our center. Again, some discount centers ask for payment on some/all postoperative visits separately. That is why at Boothe Eye Care we provide you with enough time and as many follow-up visits as needed to make sure your healing process will be completed successfully and all of the time we spend with patients is already included in the fee we charge for a Lasik treatment.

FAQs on IntraLASIK Procedure
What is IntraLasik procedure?
IntraLasik procedure is a bladeless procedure used for the correction of refractive errors. Unlike other laser procedures that use a microkeratome (blade) to create the corneal flap, intraLaSIK procedure uses a laser to create the corneal flap. After creating the corneal flap, an excimer laser is applied to correct the refractive error of the patient.
Explain the working of IntraLASIK procedure?
The IntraLASIK method uses small and rapid laser pulse for the creation of the corneal flap. Microscopic bubbles are formed using the laser pulse at a certain depth within eye which will be decided by Dr. Boothe. Dr. Boothe will move the laser back and forth in the eye to create uniform bubbles beneath the cornea. The corneal flap is then created by separating the layer where the microscopic bubbles are formed. The doctor will then go to the second step of the procedure only after creating the corneal flap.
How can you differentiate between corneal flap created by IntraLASIK method and the flap created by microkeratome?
Microkeratome is a surgical instrument that has a steel blade which is used to cut the corneal flap. The microkeratome is used to make a one-dimensional and single cut of the cornea. The blade may shake when the doctor use the microkeratome resulting in irregular surface of the cornea. This will affect the quality of vision after the surgery. But in IntraLASIK procedure, the laser will create a perfect corneal flap without any irregularities.
What is the success rate of IntraLASIK procedure?
The success rate of the IntraLASIK procedure is very good. In majority of the cases, the patients are achieving 20/20 vision.
Will the outcome of the surgery last longer or not?
IntraLASIK surgery is used to correct the refractive errors of the eye so that the vision will become normal. For those people who are at the age of 40 and above are at the risk of Presbyobia which require spectacles to read. Hence, spectacles are necessary for people who are at their forties. Occurrence of cataract can also change the vision of the people who had undergone IntraLASIK surgical procedure.
Are there any complications in this procedure?
The chances of complications are much lesser when compared to other laser procedures. Dr. Boothe is an expert and experienced LASIK surgeon who can perform the intraLASIK procedure with lesser complications. In some cases, dry eyes, night vision problems and infection may occur.
How much time is required to create the flap using IntraLASIK procedure?
Only 15-20 seconds are required for each eye to create the corneal flap. Altogether, it may take around 10 minutes by including the time taken for the preparation of the surgery.
Is intraLASIK procedure is painful?
Dr. Boothe will apply anesthetic eye drops to reduce the pain during IntraLASIK surgery. After the procedure, the patients may experience light sensitivity, foggy vision and stinging sensation for about 3 to 4 hours. There will be no discomfort after the initial 3 to 4 hours after the surgery.
Are the results of the IntraLASIK permanent?
Yes. The outcomes of the IntraLASIK are permanent. But you can do future corrections for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. Presbyopia developed after the age of 40 cannot be treated using IntraLASIK surgical procedure.
